World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall felt ‘anorexic’ despite weighing 334lb for 30-second Mariusz Pudzianowski KO
Eddie Hall has claimed that he felt ‘anorexic’ despite tipping the scales at a whopping 334lb for his MMA debut last month.
The 2017 World’s Strongest Man winner viciously knocked out five-time WSM champion Mariusz Pudzianowski at KSW 105 in Poland. He outweighed his rival by around 67lb the previous day as they took to the scales, marking a considerable weight loss.
While Hall’s weight might seem abnormally high for a 6’2″ man, he is actually now over 100lb lighter than at the peak of his strongman days. He once lifted over 1,000lb to break a world record, at which point he weighed around 440lb.
Eddie Hall opens up about weight loss for Mariusz Pudzianowski fight
In a YouTube video following his win at KSW 105, Eddie Hall spoke about his plans going forward following his successful MMA debut. He noted that his next fight will likely be in November or December, listing some potential opponents.
But first, he said, he plans to hit the gym and get back to lifting weights so he can put some muscle back on. “So what’s next for me?” He asked himself. “I’m actually going to get back in the gym, I haven’t touched any weights for ten weeks.
“I want to get back in the gym and get some muscles back on me because I’m feeling a bit anorexic. I’m doing an arm wrestle against Robert Oburst at the Shaw Classic in the middle of August so I’m going to get some arm wrestling training done and bulk up.
“Then I’m hoping for two things; either I get another fight booked for November or December or I’m going to use that bulk from the arm wrestling to then cut for a body building show. I don’t know which yet, it all depends if a fight promotion comes at me with a good enough deal.”
Eddie Hall was on carnivore diet to cut weight for MMA debut
Speaking with Bloody Elbow in an exclusive chat before his fight, Eddie Hall revealed that he was losing weight by getting on the carnivore diet during camp. He ate only meat, eggs and dairy, foregoing fruit in favor of extra protein to stay strong.
“It’s been a pretty good diet,” he explained. “It helped me to maintain all of my muscle mass and I’ve dropped body fat. My energy levels are through the roof, my endurance is insane so that’s pretty much been the diet.

“I’ve not restricted what I eat at all, I just eat meat, eggs and dairy and as much of it as I want. The body fat’s come off. When I started the prep I was 170kg and I’m down to 158kg. I might even lose a bit more and be strict, that would get me to fighting at around 155-156kg.
“I feel good and the main thing about it is that with my training it’s not about the weight but how fit I am. Am I doing these four minute rounds and being able to recover within 90 seconds to go again? At the minute, I can say yes. I’ve got no intention to lose too much weight because the cardio is there.”
